About Patrice F. Billings

Patrice Mullins was a Police Officer and the Chief Pilot who flew helicopters for the St. Louis County Police Department in Missouri where she served for more than 28 years before retiring in 2009. (Patrice has recently returned to her maiden name, Billings, which is also her pen name for all published works.)
Patrice was a member of the SWAT Team for 10 years as a sniper/precision marksman. Patrice was the first female police officer in the country to become a helicopter pilot for a law enforcement agency.
She was the only pilot allowed in the air on 9/11 to perform anti-terrorism patrol around the St. Louis Arch and other significant landmarks.
Patrice has received a Purple Heart, Chief's Letter of Commendation, nominated for an Athena Award, Missouri's First Lady Award, and for "America's Most Wanted." She also received the Zonta Club of St. Charles Spirit Award.
Patrice is a Certified Helicopter Flight Instructor and trained officers to fly helicopters. Patrice was featured on the front page of the Suburban Journals as well as the St. Charles Business Record and Airborne Law Enforcement Association magazine called "Air Beat."
She is Immediate Past President of the Zonta Club of St. Charles and is the Amelia Earhart Chairperson for Zonta District 7. Patrice is active with the Ninety-Nines, an association of women pilots.
She is currently working on her first fiction novel, inspired by her real-life experiences solving crimes and chasing criminals. Patrice is also a XANGO Independent Distributor. More info at:
